Job summary

Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA seeks an Obstetrics and Gynecology Technologist for the Family Birth Center. The role focuses on assisting in obstetric and gynecologic procedures, newborn testing, and OR support in a 12-hour shift environment. Training in OB is provided over 8–12 weeks.

Requirements include 1 year of OR experience or surgical tech background, plus licensure as LPN or CST; BLS within 90 days of hire. Rotating weekends and on-call elements apply.

Qualifications

• L&D, Surg Tech, OB Tech and CST credentials or relevant experience.
• 1 year of OR experience required; 1 year preferred.
• Education: Surgical tech or LPN training; certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of sterile techniques and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist in nursing care and surgical services in maternity area.
• Support newborn testing and act as surgical technologist during OR procedures.
• Documentation and data collection per standards; ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Support OB/gyne procedures and post-labor care as needed.
