Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL is seeking an OB Technician to assist the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum unit. You will provide direct patient care to neonates and adults, collaborate with RNs and physicians, and assist with birth certificate processing and related documentation.

The role requires completion of a nursing assistant or EMT-type program and BLS certification within 30 days. It’s a full-time, day-shift position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • BLS Certification within 30 days and maintain current.
  • Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, ROP, Paramedic Training Program, Certified Surgical Scrub Technician or equivalent required. (State Specific)

Responsibilities

  • The OB Technician provides direct patient care and performs clerical duties to support Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP). They work under RN supervision, caring for patients across ages and coordinating with physicians and families. They handle birth certificates and declaration of paternity forms.

Responsibilities

The OB Technician performs a variety of patient care and clerical duties to assist and support the organization and function of the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP). Works cooperatively with and under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Provides direct care to patient of various ages (neonate, adolescent, adult). Interacts with physicians, patients, families/significant others, hospital staff and community agencies in providing basic care. Is responsible for completion and processing of the birth certificates, and “Declaration of Paternity” forms.

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent

2. BLS Certification within 30 days and maintain current

3. Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, ROP, Paramedic Training Program, Certified Surgical Scrub Technician or equivalent required. (State Specific)
