Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, KS, is seeking a PRN Obstetric Surgical Technologist to join a dedicated obstetrics and surgery team. You will prepare the surgical suite, support the team during obstetric procedures, and help ensure safe, compassionate care for mothers and newborns.

This role offers on-call opportunities, ongoing training, and a clear path for growth within a leading healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technician program.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• Current BCLS recognized by American Heart Association required.
• Six to twelve months current experience in a perioperative or obstetrical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical suite and organize instruments, equipment, and supplies for safe procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping.
• Provide instruments and hands-on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field, perform counts, and ensure equipment functions properly.
• Collaborate with the surgical team for a seamless patient experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• 3 shifts in 4 weeks to include a weekend shift
• Preparing the surgical suite and organizing instruments, equipment, and supplies to support safe, efficient procedures
• Assisting with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety
• Providing instruments, equipment, and hands‑on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures
• Maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, and ensuring instruments and equipment function properly
• Working closely with the surgical team to deliver patient‑centered care and a seamless surgical experience

What qualifications you will need:

• Completion of a Surgical Technician program.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) as recognized by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred.
• Current BCLS recognized by American Heart Association required.
• Prefer six to twelve months current experience in a perioperative or obstetrical setting.
