Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking an OB Scrub Technologist to assist in Labor & Delivery, the Nursery and on the nursing unit under RN supervision. You will prepare patient charts, ensure supplies, and aid the surgical team with sterile techniques and patient positioning.

Ideal candidates hold a Surgical Technologist certification (NBSTSA) and a current BLS. This PRN/Day shift role requires strong teamwork in a hospital setting in Murrells Inlet, SC.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program, with NBSTSA certification or equivalent.
• Upon program completion, may practice up to 3 months before NBSTSA certification is finalized.
• Completion of 15 hours of continuing education annually to remain qualified.
• Lifelong readiness to meet licensure/certification requirements and CPR/BLS standards.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepares patient charts and outpatient packets.
• Keep other nursing personnel notified of changes.
• Ensure supplies are available in the Nursery, PPE cabinets and daily linen preparation for staff use during ADL’s.
• Assist with toileting and feeding patients as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Assist the Circulator in proper positioning of the patient.
• Demonstrate proper scrub/sterile techniques.
• Follows proper etiquette when answering phones.

High School Diploma & Surgical Technologist program graduate

Completion of accredited surgical technologist training with NBSTSA certification within 3 months

U.S. Army/Navy/Air Force/Marine Corps/Coast Guard or U.S. Public Health Service training in surgical technology

Basic Life Support Certification (American Heart Association) within 30 days
