Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Aide for the Labor and Delivery unit in Park Ridge, IL. This is a part-time, per-diem position with 12-hour shifts and a pay range of $22.90–$34.35 per hour.

The role requires completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program and active BLS within 6 months, with no prior experience required. The Nurse Aide will assist with obstetrical procedures, scrubbing and gowning, provide direct patient care, train staff on equipment, and maintain sterile supplies

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills including keyboarding and e-messaging.
• Good written and verbal communication required.
• Ability to develop rapport with patients, families, staff and physicians.
• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
• Ability to multi-task with interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with obstetrical procedures and deliveries; maintain sterile field and prepare instruments.
• Scrub for obstetric procedures and assist with gowning, draping and passing instruments.
• Assist in direct patient care and monitor patient needs.
• Serve as a resource for training staff and technicians on equipment and procedures.
• Maintain stock of sterile supplies and readiness for emergencies.
• Report patient information accurately to supervisors and care teams.
