Job summary

American Geriatrics Society is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery and postpartum in Evanston, IL. Night shifts and weekend requirements apply per level agreement. Travel limited to Evanston and Highland Park Hospitals, with full-time/part-time options.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide safe, effective care for labor and delivery and postpartum patients.
• Use the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Guide assigned unlicensed personnel in delivering interdisciplinary care.
• Communicate with the health-care team to ensure optimal outcomes and continuity.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Per Diem, Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery and postpartum
• Evanston and Highland Park Hospitals
• Per Diem (Full Time/Part Time)
• Night shift 2300-0730 and 1900-0730; weekend and holiday requirements per level agreement
• Per Diem Commitment Level: Level 1: 32-72 hrs. or Level 2: 73-110 hrs. or Level 3: 111-144 hrs. per 6-week schedule
• Required Travel: Evanston and Highland Hospital

What you will do:

• Independently provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for labor and delivery and postpartum patients
• Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care
• Guide and direct assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care
• Communicate and collaborate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need:

• License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
• Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred
• Certification: BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP Certification for the Healthcare Provider required. (AHA)
• Experience: A minimum two years of recent acute care clinical experience in Labor and Delivery and postpartum experience required
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Labor and Delivery and postpartum experience required
