Job summary

Qualifications

• Current licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) in Minnesota.
• Maintain active BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the nursing plan of care with medical orders for obstetrical care.
• Assists the provider with examinations and procedures for maternal/infant care.
• Monitors laboring mothers and the labor process.
• Provides safe pain management through a multidisciplinary approach.
• Prepares delivery, including IVs and pain management options.
• Sets up room for delivery and assists with newborn care (including C-section support).
• Delivers patient teaching and discharge instructions for safe continuity of care.
• Engages in discharge planning with culturally sensitive education.
