Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an RN Clinical Nurse Practice Specialist to support OB services (Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Antepartum) at Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, IL. This full-time, 0.9 FTE role emphasizes expertise, education, and system-wide patient outcomes.

The CNPS will mentor nursing staff, apply advanced assessment and evidence-based care, and lead quality initiatives across units. A master’s in nursing is required, with Doctorate preferred, IL RN license, and BLS; NRP is favorable

Qualifications

Master's degree in nursing is required.
Doctorate in nursing preferred.
Minimum 5+ years clinical experience in a hospital setting.
Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
BLS certification required; NRP preferred with 3 months grace period.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical nursing expertise in OB specialty with advanced nursing skills.
Assess education needs for role development via observation of direct care and staff feedback.
Provide staff support and guidance in development/modification of patient care plans.
Identify professional practice needs by data collection and analysis of issues, trends and outcomes.
Enhance process improvement by leading quality initiatives and implementing change.
Serve as a source of information on evidence-based, cost-effective nursing practices and regulatory standards.
Evaluate new evidence for potential application to clinical practice.
Identify standards of practice using evidence-based information to achieve nurse-sensitive outcomes.
Leads the integration and evaluation of technology to promote safety, quality and outcomes.
Collaborate on policies and protocols to ensure sustainable change at unit level.
Participate in Shared Decision-Making Councils.
