Job summary

Carle Health seeks an OB/OR Technician to join the perioperative team in Labor and Delivery, assisting providers and RNs during intraoperative care. You will help prepare the field, handle instruments, and support patient safety in the delivery room and OR.

Responsibilities include aseptic technique, assisting with sterile setup, instrument counts, room turnover, and patient support duties under RN supervision. BLS and Surgical Technology certification required; CNA experience welcomed.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days (AHA).
• Surgical Technology certificate required.
• CNA work experience or coursework relevant to role.

Responsibilities

• Applies asepsis principles to maintain a sterile environment.
• Demonstrates competency in technical and psychomotor skills.
• Provides age-specific obstetrical patient care per department policies.
• Assists in organization and coordination of supplies/equipment.
• Maintains safe and orderly environment for patients and staff.
• Performs instrument counts with RN circulator and assists in OR procedures.
