Job summary

Norton Healthcare is seeking an OB Technician to assist the surgical team during the intra-operative period, focusing on vaginal and cesarean deliveries under physicians and RNs. You will help set up OR, prepare and transport patients, adjust lights and equipment, pass instruments, hold retractors, and count supplies while applying aseptic technique and basic medical terminology.

Qualifications

• One year as a surgical tech or completion of a surgical tech program or apprentice program
• Diploma or Surgical Tech certificate or equivalent
• One year in an operating room setting (Desired)

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up the operating room for procedures
• Prepare and transport patients for surgery
• Adjust lights and equipment and pass instruments to surgeons
• Hold retractors and assist with counting sponges, needles, and other supplies
• Apply aseptic technique and basic knowledge of medical terminology and metric system in patient interactions
