Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking an RN to manage patients with medical or surgical needs, providing professional nursing leadership and coordination of care throughout the shift.

The role requires current Texas RN licensure (or compact/state license), with BSN preferred. A strong emphasis on patient-centered care, compliance, and collaborative teamwork is essential for delivering Safe, high-quality nursing services across units.

Qualifications

• 1 year FT or 3 years PT experience in acute care preferred.
• Must comply with Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
• Texas RN license required or compact state license or temporary TX license.
• BSN preferred.
• Maintain BLS and unit-specific certifications.
• Certifications per ARC/AHA: CPR/BCLS, ACLS, NRP as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or seen for medical or surgical conditions.
• Provide professional nursing leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Assess, plan, guide, and evaluate nursing care according to hospital policies.
• Oversee and guide nursing staff under supervision; coordinate with hospital departments.
• Occasionally work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, or on-call as needed.
• Demonstrate Service Excellence standards at all times.
