Job summary

University of Maryland Faculty Physicians is seeking a Nursing Director to provide centralized oversight for OB/GYN nursing across locations, standardizing workflows, policies and processes to ensure consistent, high-quality patient care.

The role supervises RNs and assists physicians, overseeing patient flow, vital signs, injections and daily care activities, while developing procedures to maintain safety and compliance with clinical standards across the department.

Qualifications

• Current Maryland RN license required.
• BSN required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' clinical experience.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision of the clinical staff including staff assignments.
• Develops policies and procedures related to the clinical duties.
• Evaluates job performance for the clinical staff.
• Supervises and provides direct patient care in accordance with accepted clinical standards.
• Makes frequent patient inquiries/rounds to assure quality and appropriateness of care.
