Job summary

Women’s Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to provide professional clinical care during office visits and assist patients and families throughout the visit process.

The role includes preparing patients for examinations, maintaining exam and lab areas, taking vital signs, and performing phlebotomy and injections as directed by providers. Knowledge of EMR systems and HIPAA compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Florida: Certified Medical Assistant preferred OR ability to obtain certification within 120 days of employment.
• Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR ability to obtain within 30 days of employment via Women’s Care training.
• Experience in OB/GYN or Primary Care is a plus.
• Proficiency in medical terminology.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and injections, if applicable.
• Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurements conversions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and staff.
• Proficient computer skills and data entry in electronic medical records (eCW preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment and procedures.
• Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure areas, and labs per policies.
• Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaints.
• Measure, record, and document vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy and injections as directed.
• Educate patients with information and instructions from the provider.
• Maintain safe, compliant work environment according to standards and regulations.
• Relay messages between patients and front office staff.
• Represent the office professionally to patients and internal/external customers.
• Participate in team activities and required meetings.
• Demonstrate Women’s Care mission and core values.
