Job summary

Women’s Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide professional clinical support in Brandon, FL. The role includes patient preparation, room maintenance, vital signs, and phlebotomy as needed, following HIPAA rules and office policies.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, CMA eligibility or certification, CPR/BLS readiness, and comfort with EMR systems such as eCW. OB/GYN or primary care experience is a plus, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; MA certification preferred or eligible within 120 days.
• Eligible to obtain MA certification via accredited program or Armed Forces Medical Technician background.
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Experience in OB/GYN or Primary Care is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and injections, if applicable.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
• Proficient computer skills and EMR data entry (eCW preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures.
• Restock and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, and lab areas.
• Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
• Measure, record, and document vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy and injections as directed by the provider.
• Educate patients with information and instructions from the provider.
• Maintain a safe, compliant work environment per policies and HIPAA rules.
