Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in Charlotte, NC. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with benefits and a competitive pay range. The MA will room patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, collect labs, administer vaccines, and support scheduling and referrals.

Applicants should have an accredited MA program completion and a high school diploma or GED. AHA BLS is often required, with region-specific certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training.
• MA certification or licensure per division may be required.

Responsibilities

• Follow MA scope of practice and clinic policies.
• Perform rooming tasks: vitals, history, screening, med reconciliation.
• Assist providers with procedures and orders.
• Perform lab duties, POCT, and specimen handling.
• Administer meds and vaccines per safety rules.
• Coordinate refills, authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and patient flow.
• Communicate effectively with patients and team.
