Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for OB-GYN services at the Crystal Lake site. The role involves welcoming patients, taking vitals, documenting histories, and assisting during exams.

You will administer vaccines when directed and perform lab tasks, ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, MA program completion or 2 years of verifiable MA experience, and preferred phlebotomy skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years verifiable MA experience in the last 5 years
• Phlebotomy skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
