Job summary

Women’s Care in Oviedo, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide professional clinical care following established standards. You will prepare patients, assist providers, and help with examinations, procedures, and testing.

Responsibilities include room preparation, sterilization, recording medical histories, vital signs, and phlebotomy or injections as directed. HIPAA compliance and a patient-centered approach are essential to excel in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; MA certification within 120 days preferred.
• Graduate of a nationally accredited MA program or served as a Medical Technician in the Armed Forces with honorable discharge.
• Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred or obtainable within 30 days of employment.
• Experience in OB/GYN or Primary Care is a plus; working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and injections, and to perform dosage calculations and measurements.
• Strong professional communication with internal staff, providers, and patients; good organizational skills.
• Proficient in computer data entry in an EMR, preferably eCW; able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Dependable, reliable, and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment, procedures, examinations, and testing.
• Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, labs, and all patient care areas per policies.
• Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint; measure vital signs.
• Relate messages from patients and front office staff to providers; represent the office professionally.
• Demonstrate Women’s Care mission and core values; comply with HIPAA rules and regulations.
• Attend required meetings and participate in team and professional development activities.
