Job summary

Women’s Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical support in our Jacksonville OB/GYN practice. You will prepare patients, assist clinicians, and maintain clean, organized rooms and labs.

Responsibilities include taking histories, vitals, phlebotomy and injections as needed, and facilitating patient education under provider direction. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, Florida MA certification (or plans to obtain within 120 days), CPR/BLS, and familiarity with EMR

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Florida MA certification preferred or ability to obtain within the first 120 days of employment.
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtainable within 30 days of employment.
• Experience in OB/GYN or Primary Care is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment, examinations, and testing.
• Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms and labs per policies.
• Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
• Measure, record, and document vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection as directed.
• Educate patients with information and instructions from the provider.
