UPMC is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Womancare Associates team in Sewickley, PA. The role supports providers with clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced OB/GYN office, with emphasis on patient care and teamwork.

Hours are Monday–Friday, daylight hours, with occasional 10:30am–7:00pm shifts, and no weekends or holidays. Prior MA experience is highly preferred. Salary steps follow the Medical Assistant Career Ladder based on experience and education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience as Medical Assistant preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced OB/GYN environment.
• Ability to multitask and work with a team.
• Professional, adaptable approach and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Guides workflow and assigns tasks to clinical staff.
• Assist management with supervisory activities and department goals.
• Mentors, orients and provides training to staff.
• Serve as the department super user for Epic Care.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical/non-clinical functions and infection control.
• Prepare patient rooms and manage records; maintain infection control.
• Check schedules and organise patient flow; assist patients to exam rooms.
• Answer calls and provide patient education as directed.
• Under physician supervision, administer vaccines when appropriate.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs; document in records.
