Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Greater Pittsburgh OB/GYN office in Bethel Park, PA. The role may require work at other offices within a 30-mile radius to support staffing needs. Hours are Monday–Friday, daylight hours with occasional evenings; no weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, assisting providers, obtaining vital signs, back-office duties, injections, Epic EMR experience, and teamwork within a healthcare setting. Prior MA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy and EKG skills.
• Injections and vaccines administration.
• Excellent patient communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Send/receive patient records per HIPAA and regulations.
• Obtain lab/x-ray reports and organize charts; schedule appointments.
• Prepare exam/procedure rooms and maintain infection control.
• Assist patients and accompany to exam rooms; take vitals and patient history.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs; document in medical record.
• Administer injectable medications under physician supervision.
