Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or military training that is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal program.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 45 days where applicable.
• Certified or registered CMA/RMA by national organization (AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, NCMA, CCMA, NRMA, NAHP) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs venipuncture, specimen collection, labeling and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles scheduling, referrals and insurance authorizations as needed.
• Maintains clean environment and supplies; trains teammates as needed.
