Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the care team in patient examinations, screenings, and follow-up communications. The role includes rooming patients, taking vital signs, updating medication lists, and assisting with procedures in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The position requires completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent, with certification within the required timeframe. A sign-on bonus is offered for external hires who commit to one year of employment.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification required within defined timeframe if applicable.
• Preferred Associate's Degree.
• Must obtain or maintain MA certification as per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient care under supervision.
• Prepare and room patients and record vital signs and medical history.
• Update medication lists and screen social history in the EHR.
• Assist with administration of screenings and follow-up with patients.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain inventory; assist with procedures.
