Job summary

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
Certification or additional training must meet the requirements for Meaningful use.
BLS certification required.
Active Medical Assistant certification such as: RMA, CMA, CCMA, NCMA, or NCCT with proof of current membership.

Responsibilities

Take vitals and patient intakes; complete FMLA paperwork.
Assist with exams and minor procedures; document in EMR.
Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and scheduling for tests and treatments.
Provide clerical support and ensure accurate medical records and billing information.
Maintain clean, safe clinical environment and medical equipment.
