Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin seeks a certified Medical Sonographer specialized in obstetric and pelvic imaging to perform comprehensive ultrasound exams, including genetic sonograms and fetal assessments, following ARDMS guidelines. You will select probes, optimize settings, and document findings for accurate patient care.

The role requires reviewing medical records, communicating with patients to gather history, maintaining equipment, supporting QA activities, and assisting in teaching

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of fetal abnormalities and their diagnosis.
• Proficient in performing scans across anatomical areas and identifying normal vs abnormal to evaluate sonograms.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients and other staff members.
• Basic computer proficiency (e.g. email, EMR).

Responsibilities

• Perform obstetric and pelvic diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including genetic sonograms and prenatal assessments.
• Select proper transducer and adjust technical factors; use non-standard techniques as needed.
• Review medical records and obtain history data; communicate with patients.
• Calibrate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment; evaluate new products and equipment.
• Participate in department quality assurance studies and document billing codes.
• Assist in clinical instruction of sonography students and residents.
• Positioning and transporting duties with proper technique.
• Provide age-appropriate patient care per department policies.
