Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Sonographer to perform obstetrical and gynecologic ultrasound exams, explain procedures to patients, and prepare them for scans. You will operate complex equipment and adjust settings to obtain high-quality images, then present preliminary findings to physicians.

The role requires graduation from an accredited radiology program, internship in ultrasound or equivalent experience, and relevant ultrasound certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited training program in Cardiac and/or General diagnostic radiology.
• Recent completion of a twelve-month internship in diagnostic ultrasound or equivalent recent directly-related work experience.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or other listed certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Execute obstetrical and gynecologic ultrasound exams per AIUM standards and department protocols.
• Interact with patients, explain procedures, and prepare them for scans.
• Operate and adjust sonographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Review images for pathologies and present preliminary findings to physicians.
• Assist with QA/Improvements audits and maintain patient records.
