Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of fetal abnormalities and their diagnosis.
• Proficient in performing scans of various anatomical areas and identifying cross sectional human anatomy.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills.
• Basic computer proficiency (e.g. email, EMR).

Responsibilities

• Perform obstetric and pelvic diagnostic ultrasound procedures including genetic sonograms and amniocentesis.
• Select transducers and adjust factors for accurate ultrasonography; use non-standard techniques when needed.
• Review medical records and obtain history data; communicate with patients.
• Calibrate and maintain ultrasound equipment; evaluate new products.
• Participate in department quality assurance and document billing codes for procedures.
• Assist in clinical instruction of sonography students and OB/GYN residents.
• Handle patient positioning and lifting tasks following safety protocols.
• Provide age-appropriate care and follow department standards.
