• The position requires knowledge and skill of professional nursing theory and practice, leadership in administration, principles of effective teaching and learning, fiscal management, and effective interpersonal relationships and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management for the Obstetrics and Gynecology department
• Work cooperatively and supportively with the medical staff to provide services to patients
• Provide input into the preparation of a departmental budget
• Guide, coach, develop and counsel unit staff as needed
• Ensure staff competence through orientation, training, supervision and evaluation
• Maintain staffing compliance within regulatory requirements and budget considerations
• Serve on hospital committees
• Serve as a role model and mentor for staff and peers
• Perform related duties in a professional and responsive manner
• Demonstrate ability to use relevant equipment
• Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health's mission, values, policies and procedures
• Meet work schedule requirements with flexibility
• Foster respectful working relationships with colleagues, patients, families, and the public
