The Office of Accessibility Resources and Services (OARS) Accommodation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating academic testing accommodations and supporting accessibility services to ensure equitable access for students with disabilities at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). This position manages the day-to-day administration of accommodated testing, collaborates with students, faculty, and academic departments to facilitate timely exam coordination, and helps maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and efficiency of testing operations.
Reporting to the Director of OARS, the Accommodation Coordinator serves as a primary resource for students navigating testing accommodations, provides administrative and operational support for the office, and assists with the coordination of assistive technology and alternative formats. The position also supports student employee supervision, departmental communications, and outreach initiatives, including training, awareness programming, and marketing efforts that promote accessibility and inclusion across the university.
The successful candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and student-centered, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while exercising sound judgment and maintaining compliance with federal and institutional accessibility regulations.
At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
