Position Summary
  • Manage and oversee SQL Server database systems, including database administration, ETL pipelines from Oracle (Banner), and Snowflake integration, to ensure validated, secure, and accessible datasets.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and institutional research studies on enrollment, retention, graduation, and post-graduation outcomes to inform institutional planning and effectiveness.
  • Direct the preparation and submission of external surveys and benchmarking reports (e.g., IPEDS, US News, ASEE, HERD, state systems), ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Produce economic impact reports for research projects and for the university, including analysis of direct, indirect, and induced economic contributions
  • Maintain official Factbook dashboards, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and accessibility for institutional stakeholders.
  • Design and implement AI innovations in Institutional Effectiveness, including the development of an institutional chatbot to improve knowledge management and access to reports and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows and reporting process, improving efficiency and accuracy across IR functions.
  • Apply principles of system theory and practice to evaluate institutional processes and recommend strategies for improving institutional effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain dynamics dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for leadership and campus stakeholders.
  • Support assessment and accreditation activities by aligning reporting and data analyses with institutional standards.
  • Contribute to the professional advancement of Institutional Research by engaging with national organizations (e.g., AIR, NJAIR) through committee service, publications, and presentations.
  • Provide quality control reviews of institutional reports and supervise analysts, interns, or project staff as needed.
  • Prepare and validate data for federal and state reporting systems, including the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), National Science Foundation (NSF) surveys including HERD, U.S. Department of Education reporting, NJ SURE submissions, and NCAA reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory definitions and reporting standards.
  • Support data analysis or documentation for institutional or programmatic accreditation processes, work with standards aligned with Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), ABET, AACSB, or the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).
  • Produce or support data submissions for college ranking and benchmarking organizations, including U.S. News & World Report, Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Peterson's, and the Common Data Set.
  • Design, implement, or support enterprise data systems integration, including relational databases, ETL processes, and cross-platform data architecture.
  • Develop and maintain data visualizations, dynamic dashboards, or decision-support tools for organizational leadership.
  • Design and implement automated data pipelines, workflow, and build institutional-wide AI tool to enhance organizational knowledge management, information access, and operational efficiency.
  • Work with the National Center for Education Statistics and federally compliant secure research environments, including identity management systems, role-based access controls, and encrypted workspaces to access and analyze restricted-use or confidential data in accordance with federal privacy and security standards.
  • Produce economic impact analyses and applied quantitative research reports for institutional, governmental, or community stakeholders.
  • Perform the foregoing using higher education enterprise systems including Oracle Banner or comparable ERP systems preferred and cloud-based or enterprise data platforms including Snowflake and AWS.
Education And Experience Requirement

Requires a Master’s degree in Financial Economics and 2 years of experience in job offered or 2 years of experience in the Related Occupation. IMPLAN Certified Economist certification required.
