Job summary

Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston is seeking an Assistant Manager for OAK Long Bar + Kitchen to ensure smooth operations, elevate service, and act as an ambassador for our luxury dining experience. Your warm personal attention and knowledge of our offerings will make guests feel unique and valued.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership, supervision, coaching, and development of all colleagues in OAK, fostering a positive team culture and high employee morale.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and manage staffing levels to ensure operational efficiency and exceptional guest service.
  • Maintain and enforce Forbes/Fairmont service standards, health and safety requirements, grooming standards, and quality expectations to deliver an exemplary guest experience.
  • Oversee daily restaurant and bar operations, including service execution, reservations, private events, opening and closing procedures, side work, inventory control, cleanliness, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager and bar on beverage programs, cocktail development, wine list management, inventory, and colleague training.
  • Partner with Culinary and Stewarding teams to ensure seamless service, operational excellence, and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and evaluate guest satisfaction, service quality, employee engagement, operating equipment, and overall outlet performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and execute training initiatives, employee orientations, and promotional activities to support colleague growth and business objectives.
  • Assist in creating and implementing revenue‑generating promotions, special events, and innovative guest experiences.
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace health, safety, sanitation, and maintenance standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of departmental budgets, financial goals, and operational objectives.
  • Participate in service operations as needed to support business demands and ensure a seamless guest experience.

Additional Information

Salary range: USD $70,000–72,000 plus bonus.
