You will liaise with Budget Division leadership and executive staff to provide clear budget guidance and data-driven insights.
The Budget Division is one of the financial divisions within the Office of the Attorney General. We are a service¿oriented team dedicated to supporting agency goals by meeting the needs of executive leadership and our client divisions. We are responsible for monitoring and managing a large and increasingly complex biennial budget exceeding $1.5 billion. Our work includes several critical functions: preparing the Legislative Appropriations Request (LAR), administering appropriated funds, and producing both the Published Operating Budget and the Internal Operating Budget. Another essential function of our team is providing financial guidance to agency divisions on the availability and appropriate use of funds for purchases and staffing. This position provides financial and analytical support for the Child Support Division (CSD) and is routinely assigned our most complex (senior¿level) budget preparation and analysis work. Examples of work performed include preparing, reviewing, and analyzing budgets and performance measures; monitoring budgets and program performance; and ensuring compliance with applicable statutes, policies, and guidelines. The position reports directly to the Budget Manager (Child Support) and engages with Budget Division leadership, assigned regions, and executive leadership. Work requires the ability to clearly, accurately, and effectively communicate complex budgetary information to support decision¿making and promote alignment across program areas. Unusual Working Conditions: During the biennium, critical target dates for the completion of work projects or gathering information to respond to questions from internal management, other state agencies, or state legislators may require the need to work extra hours. This position may be eligible for a flexible/hybrid work schedule if certain conditions are met; working arrangements may change at any time as business necessitates.
