Job description

O&G Industries, Inc., an innovative and diversified construction company based out of Torrington, CT, is currently recruiting for a Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Torrington. Union membership is required at the time of hire or within the applicable application window.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, transmissions, steering and other systems
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Run diagnostic tests and interpret results accurately
• Perform Federal Motor Carrier periodic inspections
• Use power, machine and hand tools safely
• Follow all repair shop regulations and standards

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience as a truck and/or heavy equipment mechanic
• Proficient in equipment software diagnosis, and repair, based on manufacturing specifications
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems
• Experience in welding preferred
• Experience repairing paving equipment a plus
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic math skills
