Job summary

General Motors is seeking an experienced NXOpen Developer to lead automation within Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM, delivering scalable tools and workflows. You will translate design and manufacturing requirements into software solutions, collaborating across R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams.

The role emphasizes data pipelines, UX for NX tools, and integrations, with a focus on Design for Manufacturing and digital engineering. Hybrid work from Warren Tech Center is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong experience with Siemens NX Open API, Teamcenter SOA (TcSOA), and C# development.
• Experience working with Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM environments.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), engineering best practices, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience developing process automation solutions and engineering workflows.
• Ability to create custom NX user interfaces and integrate business logic into user-facing applications.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and adapt to evolving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain NXOpen applications, custom tools, and automation solutions within Siemens NX.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to implement engineering algorithms, design constraints, and manufacturing requirements into user-friendly software solutions.
• Build and support integrations between NX, Teamcenter PLM, and downstream manufacturing systems.
• Design and develop data pipelines that enable advanced digital engineering and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) workflows.
• Create custom NX user interfaces utilizing technologies such as NX Open UIStyler, Block UI, and Reuse Library Dialogs.
• Support code repository management, version control, documentation, and software development best practices.
• Partner with deployment and sustainment teams to support enterprise implementation and long-term maintenance of developed solutions.
• Participate in iterative development cycles, including prototyping, testing, validation, and deployment activities.
