Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) in California is seeking an NVH Engineer II to evaluate, test, and develop total vehicle performance, NVH, and ride & handling for North American market Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles, as part of the Vehicle Test & Development groups.

You will perform subjective evaluations, develop test plans, coordinate vehicles and suppliers, benchmark competitors, and present clear technical reports to drive development from prototype stages through pilot

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or related field.
• 4–7+ years of automotive engineering experience.
• Coursework in Vehicle Dynamics, Signal Analysis, Noise & Vibrations Analysis, Controls, and Human Factors a plus.
• Good understanding of vehicle dynamics, chassis systems, and powertrain systems.
• Experience with experimental test data acquisition systems and analysis software including Matlab, LMS Test.Lab, HEAD Acoustics ArtemiS.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and develop the Total Vehicle performance, NVH, and Ride & Handling for NA market Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
• Perform subjective evaluations & objective testing, investigate root causes, develop countermeasures, and summarize findings in reports.
• Evaluate test vehicle performance from the North American customer perspective.
• Develop and execute test plans, coordinate test vehicles, and manage supplier activities.
• Plan, organize, and execute ride-and-drive activities for prototype and pilot vehicles.
• Benchmark competitor performance and establish development direction and targets.
• Analyze customer feedback from various sources and present findings in reports.
• Utilize data acquisition systems and analysis software (Matlab, LMS Test.Lab, ArtemiS).
• Conduct NVH investigations including Sound Quality, Transfer Path, and Modal Analysis.
• Develop ride and handling through tire testing and suspension tuning.
