Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) seeks an entry-level Total Vehicle Evaluation Engineer I to evaluate, test, and develop vehicle performance for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis in North America.

You will conduct subjective and objective testing, develop countermeasures, and summarize results from a customer-centered perspective. You will plan test programs, coordinate vehicles and suppliers, and collaborate with Design and R&D in Korea, supporting testing at the California proving ground

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or related field.
• 0 to 3 years of automotive engineering experience.
• 0 to 1 year engineering internship experience.
• Coursework in Vehicle Dynamics, Signal Analysis, Noise & Vibrations Analysis, Controls, and Human Factors.
• Good understanding of vehicle dynamics, chassis systems, and powertrain systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, test and develop Total Vehicle performance, NVH, or Ride & Handling for NA Hyundai, Kia, Genesis vehicles.
• Perform subjective evaluations and objective testing; summarize findings in reports.
• Develop and execute test plans; coordinate test vehicles and supplier activities.
• Plan ride-and-drive activities for prototype/pilot vehicles.
• Benchmark competitor performance and set targets.
• Analyze customer feedback from JD Power IQS, Consumer Reports, media, clinics.
