Job summary

Baton Rouge General seeks a Nutritional Care Ambassador to support nursing units and the Nutritional Care Department in meeting each patient's dietary needs with care and accuracy.

You will visit patients to assist with menu selections, record changes, and coordinate with food production to ensure timely, safe meals. Join a team dedicated to compassionate, patient-centered nutrition in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and courteous team player with strong communication skills.
• Experience in food service or patient nutrition support preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of dietary restrictions, patient safety, and HIPAA compliance.
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced healthcare settings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient care.
• Familiarity with basic infection control and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Visit assigned patients to assist with menu selections and offer alternative food choices.
• Record diet changes and complete menu selections within scheduled timelines.
• Compile and communicate accurate menu data to food production staff.
• Monitor and deliver labeled nourishments to nursing units and maintain nourishment inventory.
• Prepare patient trays and set up tray lines according to dietary guidelines and portion standards.
• Deliver and retrieve meal trays with attention to etiquette and patient satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment, including infection control protocol adherence.
• Report patient concerns to the Clinical Nutritionist and complete other duties.
