Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a part-time Nutrition Services teammate to prepare meals, assemble patient trays, and support safety and quality initiatives. The role involves serving, cash handling, and daily cleaning, with opportunities to mentor Associate Techs and contribute to a positive work environment.

You will work at Gerber Hospital in Fremont, part-time, with weekend rotation and a focus on patient-specific dietary standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in food service, preferably in health care or related field.
• CRT-Accredited Food Handler - ANSI National Accreditation Board (90 days)
• CRT-Accredited Food Allergy Certificate - ANSI National Accreditation Board (90 days)
• CRT-Accredited Food Protection Manager, CFP - ANSI National Accreditation Board (90 days)

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains serving lines with dishes, utensils, and food items; ensures proper storage and dating.
• Serves food, replenishes items, and cleans food stations after use.
• Operates cash register and handles payments, balances cash and deposits.
• Performs routine cleaning and operates dishwashing equipment; maintains sanitary conditions.
• Assembles patient trays according to dietary standards and delivers to patients.
• Participates in quality monitoring activities and reports malfunctions.
• May perform quality/compliance audits and implement corrective actions.
