Job summary

Corewell Health’s Nutrition Services team invites you to participate in all aspects of patient meal service, including answering phones in the call center, assembling patient trays, delivering and picking up meal trays, and maintaining stock.

No experience is required — you will be fully trained and supported and can grow and learn new skills to develop your career. This part-time role is based at Farmington Hills and involves teamwork, patient care, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains serving lines including dishes, silverware, hot and cold food items, condiments, etc.
• Assembles cold food items such as salads, desserts and nourishments and ensures proper storage and dating of items.
• Serves food as directed and replenishes items as needed; cleans and resets stations after use.
• Sets up and operates cash register and cash handling equipment; ensures accurate payments.
• Counts and balances cash register, records totals, and deposits money as required.
• Performs routine cleaning and sanitizing of dishes, pots, pans and equipment; operates dishwasher.
• Cleans major equipment and transports refuse and other materials safely.
• Maintains sanitary conditions through daily cleaning tasks and equipment upkeep.
• Sets up and delivers food carts to patients and other serving areas; retrieves carts for cleaning.
• Assembles patient trays accurately and delivers to patient rooms, verifying room/bed numbers and patient details.
• Participates in quality monitoring activities such as recording temperatures and other QA checks.
