Job summary

Norwalk Community School District is seeking a Substitute Nutrition Worker to support daily meal service in our Nutrition Department. The role focuses on accurate food handling, record-keeping, and friendly service to students, with responsibilities including line setup, serving, cleaning, and basic food preparation under supervision.

Position requires the ability to lift up to 45 lbs, work during peak periods, and maintain high standards of health and confidentiality in a fast-paced school

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with salads or cooking as assigned.
• Assists in dishwashing and line setup.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Counts money, completes daily worksheet, and prepares bank deposits.
• Updates computer with new students and status changes as needed.
• Inputs purchases into computer at lunch and breakfast.
• Attends job related meetings.
• Helps maintain morale of co-workers.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
