SELECTION PROCEDURE:

The current vacancy is part-time, 32.5 hours per week, 10 months per year.

The recruitment process will consist of a written examination and an oral technical interview, which are tentatively scheduled during the weeks of September 14-25, 2026. Qualified applicants will be notified by US mail or email.

Under the direction of a Manager-Nutrition Services, operate a food service satellite at an assigned school facility; complete final preparation of foods received from the central kitchen; maintain satellite facility and equipment in a clean and sanitary manner, train and provide work direction to staff at an assigned food service location, and prepare records and reports as directed.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

Nutrition Services Satellite Operator II plans menus based on guidelines received from the Nutrition Services office; orders food and supplies needed in order to prepare a wide variety of menu items for breakfast, lunch and snack. Incumbents are required to exercise independent judgment and be able to forecast items needed in order to prepare menus that maintain or increase participation.

Nutrition Services Satellite Operator I order and prepare items for breakfast and lunch; menu and forecasting is planned by District Nutrition Services Office.

Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above including one year of increasingly responsible experience in quantity food preparation and service.

The possession of a “Food Safety Certification” issued by an approved organization must be obtained within five months of employment. Some positions may require the use of a personal automobile and possession of a valid California Class C driver's license.
