Job summary

Lemon Grove School District in Lemon Grove, California, is seeking a Nutrition Services Assistant for District School Sites. This part-time role starts immediately with shifts from 7:00am-1:30pm or 9:30am-1:15pm, and 204 paid days per year.

You will prepare, cook and serve meals for students and staff, while maintaining a sanitary kitchen environment. Responsibilities include assisting with food prep, dishwashing, and clean-up; adherence to health codes and safety practices; and accurate cash

Qualifications

• San Diego County Food Handler’s Health Card required.
• District pre-employment test required.
• Post-offer physical examination and drug screen.
• Fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice.
• Current X-ray or tuberculin skin test before employment and every four years thereafter.

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, performs tasks for the purpose/s of preparing, cooking and serving of food items for consumption by students and school personnel and maintaining facilities in a sanitary condition.

Essential Duties:

Assists in preparation, cooking and serving of foods, setting up serving counters.

Scrapes, stacks and washes dishes, utensils and pans.

Cleans tables, counter and equipment; assists in maintaining housekeeping, safety and sanitary practices.

Non-Essential Duties:

Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Modern methods of quantity food preparation and serving to large groups.
