Nutrition Assistant Manager (Pool Posting)
Starting Date: Immediately
This position will assist in the daily operation of a school cafeteria and supervise food production and service activities in the kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Daily planning and posting of work schedules for lunchroom staff.
- Ordering food and supplies for kitchen.
- Receiving deliveries.
- Checking supply orders and invoices.
- Preparing daily paperwork for meal counts, deposits and production records.
- Making daily deposits of all income.
- Maintaining accurate inventories of purchased and USDA foods.
- Participating in training courses as required by state standards.
- Planning and maintaining daily production records.
- Controlling daily inventory withdrawal in storage room, coolers, and freezers.
- Maintaining all records and reports to meet State and USDA requirements.
- Hiring and training new personnel.
- Performing related duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to pass a required physical and background check.
- Ability to operate computers and cash registers for record-keeping, daily point of sale activity, and production records.
- Responsibility for the welfare of others: Constant (Daily).
Key Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in food service or related position in a K-12 public school or large public setting.
- Prior experience in nutrition.
- Serve Safe Certification preferred.
- Experience with state-of-the-art point of sale and back of house software technology is preferred.
- Successful completion of a basic math and food service management skills assessment.
- Normal office setting; requires travel to off-site locations and school site visits.
- Light duty – sitting at a desk or table; intermittently standing or stooping. Light lifting or carrying 50 lbs. or less.
- Grade 15, 185 day position that pays for experience starting at Step 6 up to step 8.
