Roseville Area Schools in Little Canada, Minnesota, is seeking a Nutrition Services Assistant to prepare and serve food daily while connecting with students. This part-time position involves cleaning kitchen areas, operating a point of sale register, and ensuring food handling safety.
The role requires 4 hours of work per day, 5 days a week, aligned with the school calendar. Compensation begins at $18.07 per hour, including a complimentary meal per shift and a uniform allowance.
Job Summary: Under general supervision, this role completes a variety of tasks in the school kitchen: prepares and serves food, cleans work areas and equipment, operates a point of sales terminal/register, and counts with accuracy. The Nutrition Services Assistant connects with students and makes a difference in the lives of our community's children on a daily basis.
Working Hours: 4 hours/day, 5 days a week, 9 months following the school year calendar (no nights, weekends or holidays). Work hours are generally between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The site manager sets final shift schedules.
Qualifications:
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a commercial kitchen; moderate physical requirements, with risk of burns and cuts. Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving up to 30‑pound containers of raw and prepared food, materials and equipment. May require working in a walk‑in freezer for periods up to 30 minutes. District safety training and equipment provided to all employees.
