Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools is seeking a Nutrition Service Employee to assist with meal preparation and service in our school nutrition program. The role runs Monday through Friday, 4.0 hours per day, with start date ASAP and a pay of $20.02/hour plus additional pay based on certification levels held per the Nutrition Services Labor Agreement.

Benefits include medical, dental and paid time off. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must obtain SNA Level I certification

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow oral and written directions.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety practices for food handling and service.
• Ability to use standard kitchen equipment, utensils and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Assemble food supplies, measure ingredients and assist with meal preparation according to specifications.
• Assist with food prep for shipping to other locations.
• Clean all food service equipment and areas; wash dishes and utensils used in preparation and service.
• Set up serving line and gather carts, trays, napkins and utensils; place items for customers.
• Assist with preparation of sandwiches, desserts, salads and other items.
• Serve food to customers.
• If needed, assist Kitchen Manager or Assistant Kitchen Manager.
• Attend workshops or trainings for continued professional growth.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to use standard kitchen equipment, utensils and measurements
• Knowledge of basic food preparation including washing, cutting and assembling food items and ingredients

Physical Requirements

• Continuously stand, reach with one or both hands, lift up to 15 pounds; frequently twist, lift up to 40 pounds, push and pull up to 15 pounds; occasionally crouch, kneel, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Responsibilities
