Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of one year of employment history in food service or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious, appealing meals according to established menus and USDA guidelines.
• Create alternative meals as needed to accommodate dietary restrictions and individual client needs.
• Contribute ideas for menu planning, nutrition improvements, and food preparation for special events.
• Coordinate daily meal preparation, including safely thawing and preparing frozen meats.
• Maintain food quality and safety standards, including monitoring and recording meal temperatures.
• Minimize food waste and appropriately utilize leftovers within required timeframes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen by cleaning dishes, equipment, and work areas.
• Monitor kitchen inventory and communicate supply needs to the manager.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and records of menu substitutions.
• Collaborate with coworkers and other departments to help meet client needs and provide a positive, supportive experience.
