Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a Cook in Salem, MO, to join the Recovery Services team. You will work under the Food Service Supervisor, preparing food on a large scale, following menus and USDA guidelines, and ensuring high safety and quality standards.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least one year in food service, and a valid driver’s license. First Aid training is required and benefits include EAP, mileage reimbursement, and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of employment history in food service or related field.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Purchase food and supplies within budget, maintaining adequate inventory.
• Maintain compliance with Health Department and KDHE.
• Schedule staff for proper coverage and workload requirements.
• Coordinate daily menu and thaw/prepare frozen meat for cooking.
• Prepare food with minimal waste while ensuring safety and quality.
• Monitor food temperatures to meet safety regulations.
• Clean equipment, dishes, and work areas to maintain sanitation.
• Restock and clean cafeteria area for a pleasant dining environment.
• Report faulty equipment or problems promptly to supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers to ensure service delivery.
• Maintain a positive attitude and alignment with company goals.
