Job summary

The Brazos Valley Food Bank is seeking a Nutrition Education Specialist to deliver evidence-based nutrition education focused on obesity and disease prevention across six-county service areas. You will collaborate with partner agencies, manage class materials, and help develop resources for staff, volunteers, and clients.

The role is full-time with a focus on program operations, data reporting, and community outreach, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Health Education, Public Health, or related field preferred.
• At least one year of experience in community nutrition, nutrition education, or classroom instruction preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of nutrition, food safety.
• Proficiency in Canva, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Direct nutrition education delivery and facilitation for SNAP-eligible/low-income sites and participants.
• Class preparation, materials assembly, transportation of groceries/equipment, post-class cleanup.
• Submit data, enter data in BVFB software, and generate program reports.
• Assist in outreach to partner agencies and SNAP-eligible sites.
• Support curriculum and content development, including pre/post tests and supplemental materials.
• Mentor and support nutrition education volunteers and interns.
