Job summary

Houston Food Bank is seeking a Nutrition Education Supervisor to lead scalable nutrition education programs across our service area. You will supervise Nutrition Educators and the Health Promotion Specialist, partner with internal teams, and ensure evaluation of outreach efforts.

You will guide training, use data to drive improvements, and coordinate with dietetic interns and community partners to expand education delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Health Education, or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in medical nutrition therapy or nutrition counseling
• 1-2 years of management experience
• 2-3 years of experience working with diverse populations and in non-profit/public health (preferred)
• 2-3 years of experience in non-profit, public health, or community sector (preferred)
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) must be willing to maintain licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provides equitable nutrition opportunities and resources to the community and internal HFB programs and departments.
• Coordinates, supervises, and evaluates nutrition education opportunities to scale education models with measurable outcomes.
• Oversees the development and evaluation of evidence-based nutrition education opportunities with a focus on scalability and impact.
• Maintains relationships with internship directors and coordinates interns’ schedules and evaluations.
• Schedules team meetings and maintains progress toward goals.
• Collaborates on food is medicine initiatives and operational support.
• Provides case management, nutrition assessments, counseling, and referrals for patients in food is medicine services.
• Attends conferences and community involvement opportunities.
• Supports the Wellness Committee and nutrition policy implementation and review.
• Adapts to changing priorities and adheres to budgets and reports.
