Job summary

The Maryland Food Bank, a nonprofit organization dedicated to feeding communities and ending hunger, is seeking an Nutrition Specialist in Baltimore, MD. The role focuses on garden-based youth and community nutrition education, partner training, and program evaluation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years related experience.
• Knowledge of nutrition, food systems and community health education.
• Experience working with diverse populations and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Nutrition to develop inclusive nutrition strategies.
• Lead nutrition education programs across gardens, Mobile Markets, schools and communities.
• Facilitate culturally responsive nutrition workshops for varied audiences.
• Partner with the FoodWorks culinary team to offer nutrition guidance.
• Train pantry and community partners on healthy food frameworks.
• Collaborate with Mobile Market and Outreach teams to promote healthy options.
• Build relationships with schools and community stakeholders.
• Develop multilingual nutrition education materials and resources.
• Lead program evaluation through surveys and data collection.
• Coordinate program logistics and volunteer activities.
