Job summary

The Fathers of Saint Edmund, Southern Mission, Inc. seeks a cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals at the Bosco Nutrition Center in Selma, Alabama, under the Coordinator's direction.

Responsibilities include following health regulations, sanitizing kitchens, preparing hot and cold foods, handling equipment, and maintaining a positive teamwork-focused environment. A high school diploma or GED and 4-5 years cooking experience are required; ServSafe certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 4-5 years cooking experience.
• Current ServSafe Certification is a plus; if not, training will be provided after hiring.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Follow USDA regulations, state and local health department and OSHA standards.
• Ensure food preparation areas and equipment are sanitized and orderly.
• Prepare hot and cold foods per established recipes.
• Serve prepared meals to clients in a fast-paced environment.
• Store food properly and manage supplies to control costs.
• Foster a teamwork atmosphere among staff.
• Communicate with the Coordinator regarding events and facility operations.
• Adhere to policies and procedures.
